NetSuite Accelerates Autonomous ERP with Groundbreaking AI Innovations
NetSuite is pioneering the future of enterprise resource planning (ERP) by introducing advanced artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities designed to automate routine tasks, detect operational challenges, and enable faster, more data-driven decision-making. These innovations were unveiled at SuiteWorld 2026 in Las Vegas, coinciding with the launch of NetSuite Next and Ask Oracle in the UK market.
During the event’s opening keynote, NetSuite founder and executive vice president Evan Goldberg emphasized how AI is revolutionizing business interactions with ERP systems. He declared, “The old way software works is over,” highlighting a paradigm shift toward more intuitive and proactive enterprise platforms.
Goldberg elaborated that ERP is evolving from a traditionally manual, navigation-heavy experience into an intelligent platform that anticipates user needs, surfaces relevant insights, and actively assists in completing work.
“ERP has been something that you have had to navigate,” Goldberg explained. “Now it starts coming to you.” This evolution marks a significant milestone in how businesses interact with and leverage ERP technology.
NetSuite Next: Building the Foundation for Autonomous ERP
NetSuite Next, which has begun its international rollout including the UK, Australia, and New Zealand, represents the most substantial update to the platform since its inception in 1998. It integrates embedded AI, contextual intelligence, and agent-led workflows, empowering businesses to extract meaningful insights and promptly act upon them.
Alongside NetSuite Next, the UK rollout introduces Ask Oracle, a conversational AI assistant embedded within existing customer accounts. This tool allows employees to use natural language queries to analyze data, create records, and generate saved searches without navigating complex menus or constructing custom reports.
As Goldberg succinctly put it, “If you can say it, you can get it done.” Ask Oracle respects user roles and permissions, ensuring secure access to only authorized information while providing transparency by displaying data sources behind its responses. This reinforces trust and supports informed decision-making across enterprises.
Advancing the Vision of the Autonomous Suite
NetSuite’s Autonomous Suite vision extends beyond AI as a passive assistant, enabling AI agents to proactively identify operational issues, coordinate workflows, and take action across various business processes. Importantly, this autonomy does not replace human judgment. Instead, it enhances it by providing actionable options along with evidence, leaving final decisions in the hands of users.
“It didn’t change anything on its own,” Goldberg demonstrated during the keynote. “It brought three options with the evidence behind each one and the decision stayed with a person. That’s how agents work in NetSuite.”
A critical differentiator for NetSuite’s AI capabilities is its deep integration with business context. “Reasoning without context is just guessing with confidence,” Goldberg remarked. By grounding AI in financial and operational data, business processes, and existing permissions, NetSuite ensures that AI-driven insights are relevant, accurate, and actionable.
For growing businesses, this means earlier detection of issues such as cash flow constraints, inventory imbalances, or billing discrepancies, enabling teams to focus on strategic, high-value activities rather than routine problem-solving.
Harnessing AI to Transform Business Operations
At SuiteWorld 2026, NetSuite announced more than 45 new SuiteSkills, which leverage the company’s business expertise combined with AI reasoning to help customers investigate and resolve operational issues. These SuiteSkills span finance, billing, inventory management, projects, sales, and other critical business functions.
SuiteSkills can identify financial variances, potential revenue leakage, and fulfillment delays. Customers with NetSuite Next can access these capabilities via Ask Oracle or through external AI services integrated with the NetSuite AI Connector Service, a platform adopted by over 13,000 customers.
Moreover, NetSuite introduced industry-specific SuiteAgents and AI Workspaces designed to help businesses manage complex processes more efficiently. For instance, the Autonomous Close initiative aims to assist finance teams in identifying and resolving accounting issues throughout the reporting period, striving toward a zero-day financial close.
These innovations underscore NetSuite’s ambition to evolve AI from a mere assistant into an active business partner. For companies experiencing rapid growth, this translates into managing increased operational complexity without proportionately expanding workforce size. However, success depends on maintaining reliable data, well-defined processes, and robust controls as AI assumes greater responsibilities.
NetSuite’s trajectory is clear: ERP is transitioning from a static system of record into an intelligent business platform that understands company operations and increasingly helps get work done.
